Fitted bedrooms and wardrobes in Dalston

Dalston is our own village. Bob Postlethwaite started the firm here in 1972 and we have never been anywhere else. The village runs from the older sandstone cottages and the terraces around the square out to the newer estates on the Carlisle side, with farms and converted buildings along the Caldew in between. We have fitted furniture in a good many of these houses, and in several of them more than once.

Being a mile from the job has a practical effect people underestimate. If something needs adjusting after the fit, it is not a scheduling problem. It is a van and ten minutes. The same is true in five years when a hinge goes: the workshop that made the door is still here, and still has the drawing.

We make the carcasses, so the wardrobes finish at the ceiling instead of stopping short of it, the run finishes at the wall instead of stopping short of that, and the sloping ceiling in the back bedroom stops being a reason you cannot have storage there.
